    What are slutty brownies?

While Slutty Brownies have a bit of a questionable name, they are a decadent dessert that combines layers of cookie dough, Oreo cookies, and rich, fudgy homemade brownie batter. They gained popularity online a few years back and were dubbed "slutty" due to their indulgent and over-the-top nature.

It's like getting three desserts in one, and they're perfect for satisfying those indecisive moments when you can't choose between chocolate chip cookies, oreos and gooey chocolate brownies.

What I love most about this recipe is that it's from scratch but still incredibly easy to make. The cookie dough comes together quickly, and there's no need to chill it before baking. Just press it into the pan, layer on the Oreos, and pour over the brownie batter. Pop it in the oven, and in less than an hour, you'll have a pan of irresistible, over-the-top brownies that will knock your socks off.

As someone with a serious sweet tooth, I'm always on the lookout for recipes that satisfy my cravings and are easy to whip up. This easy Slutty Brownie recipe is the answer to my dessert dreams!

    6. Place in a 350 degreed F oven and bake for 40-50 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Hint: Begin checking for doneness at about 35 minutes. If you prefer gooier desserts, you can pull them out of the oven a little early.

    Variations/Substitutions

    • Use Different Oreos – Use different flavors of Oreos, such as Double Stuf, Golden Oreos, or flavored varieties, to change the flavor profile of the brownies.
    • Enhance the Brownies – Add nuts, caramel bits, or other candies to the brownie layer for extra texture and flavor.
    • Use Different Types of Chocolate Chips – Use white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or butterscotch chips in place of or in addition to the chocolate chips for a different flavor. You can also use milk chocolate, semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
    • Gluten-Free – Use a gluten-free flour blend in place of regular flour to make the brownies gluten-free and substitute gluten free Oreo cookies.
    • Swap the Oreos – Experiment with adding other ingredients to the middle layer, such as marshmallows, pretzels, or chopped candy bars, to create your own unique version of Slutty Brownies.

    Equipment

Slutty Brownies are typically made in a 9x9 inch baking dish, which is the perfect size for creating thick, indulgent brownies. When choosing a pan for this recipe, it's important to use one that is sturdy and has a non-stick surface to prevent the brownies from sticking. Glass or metal pans both work well for baking brownies, but make sure to adjust the baking time accordingly based on the material of your pan.

While this recipe can be mixed by hand using a spatula or wooden spoon, using a stand mixer or handheld electric mixer can speed up the process and make it easier to achieve a smooth and well-combined batter. Mixing the ingredients thoroughly is key to ensuring that each layer of the brownies is evenly distributed and bakes up perfectly.

    Storage

Once cooled, you can cover the brownie pan with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, you can refrigerate the brownies in an airtight container for up to a week. If you prefer to freeze them, wrap individual brownies in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe container. They can be frozen for up to 3 months. When ready to enjoy, simply thaw them at room temperature or reheat them in the microwave for a few seconds for a warm, gooey treat.

    Top Baking Tips

    • Bring your butter and eggs to room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother batter.
    • Use parchment paper to line the baking pan for easy removal of the brownies.
    • Press the chocolate chip cookie dough firmly into the bottom of the pan to create a solid base.
    • Place the Oreo cookies in a single layer on top of the cookie dough, evenly spacing them for uniform distribution.
    • Carefully spread the brownie batter over the Oreos, ensuring it covers them completely.
    • Don't over-mix the brownie batter. Mix until just combined to avoid a tough texture.
    • Brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs, not wet batter.
    • This is the hardest part! Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares for clean slices.

    Serving Suggestions

If you want to really take it over the top, serve them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra indulgent treat. You can also pair the brownies with a hot beverage like a Homemade Vanilla Latte or a cold glass of milk.
