No yeast is required for this Cheese Beer Bread!

Cheese Beer Bread contains only 6 ingredients and is an easy no yeast bread recipe! In less than an hour you have a warm homemade quick bread that goes perfect with stews, soup or chili.

Cheesy Beer Bread on a plate with butter

Oh, homemade bread, how I love you!

But I don't love the wait. There is mixing, kneading and lots of rising time. Then there are quick bread recipes like this one. You only need an hour to get your bread fix. And you probably have the ingredients for this Cheese Beer Bread Recipe already in your kitchen.

What ingredients are needed for Cheese Beer Bread?

    • flour
    • baking powder
    • salt
    • honey
    • beer
    • cheese

The ingredients in this no yeast bread recipe are very basic. They can also be varied. This time I made it with white flour but you can use whole wheat flour too.  I used cheddar cheese but any type of cheese can be used and dried herbs are great added to the batter if you desire.

This is a recipe where you can  use your favorite beer that you would usually drink. I don't like to admit this but I used Miller Lite.  Miller Lite is not my favorite but we have friends that drink it so I always have a few bottles in my fridge. The beer worked fine. Next time, I would love to try a fancy ale to see how it changes the flavors in this beer bread recipe.

Two mini loaves of Cheesy Beer Bread

What size loaf does this quick bread recipe make?

The cuteness factor got the better of me and I used my mini loaf pan for these loaves. I made three loaves but this can be baked as one big loaf also. The mini loaves take about 35 to 45 minutes to bake while one large loaf takes about an hour.

I do like mini loaves because you can use one or two and freeze the other for another time. Either way, this beer bread recipe makes some great loaves to eat.

How do you store this no yeast bread?

This cheesy beer bread recipe will stay fresh for several days if stored at room temperature in an air tight plastic bag. Wrapping it in plastic wrap insures that no air will get in. It can also be frozen for up to a month as long as it's tightly wrapped.

What do you serve this quick bread with?

Cheesy Beer Bread is great to serve next to soups, chilis and stews! Here are some of my favorites:

    Classic Chili For a Crowd

Yellow Split Pea Soup with Ham

    Easy Turkey White Bean Chili

    Quick Pasta Fagioli Soup

Irish Stout Lamb Stew via Garlic and Zest

    Hearty Chicken Vegetable Soup

Or try out these recipes to spread or eat with your beer bread:

    Easy Pimento Cheese Recipe

    Homemade Marinated Olives

Feta Cheese Dip with Red Peppers

    Creamy Roasted Garlic

    Marinated Mushrooms

    More No Yeast Bread Recipes:

I love making bread without yeast. It's so quick and easy to do. There is no planning or prep involved and it's perfect for a snow day. Try another one of these quick bread recipes.

    Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread

    Honey Wheat Beer Bread

    Brown Sugar Apple Banana Bread

Bacon Cheese Jalapeno Quick Bread via Souffle Bombay

Chocolate Banana Bread via Swirls of Flavor

No yeast is required for this Cheese Beer Bread!

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups white flour
    • 1 TBS baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 12 ounces beer
    • ¼ cup honey
    • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese divided (reserve ½ cup for top of bread)

Beer bread is the only bread I've had any success making. Cheesy beer bread sounds even better.

So easy, so yummy. My sister, who has difficulty eating, loved it and has been asking me to make it again ever since we finished it. I liked it so much, I sent the recipe to friends and family who bake.

I used Dos Equis. Tomorrow will make with Coors Light.
