Why drink plain water when you can make a big pitcher of Strawberry Lemon Water with Fresh Mint? Ahhh, the hot, hot days of summer have arrived and this refreshing flavored water will keep you hydrated all day!

Strawberry Lemon Water Backstory
It seems like just yesterday we were complaining about the chill in the air. I was bundling up with blankets while sipping hot chocolate at my son's soccer games. Well last weekend, that wasn't the case. Instead I had a water bottle in one hand and a spray bottle in the other. I was wearing the least amount of clothes possible that I could get away with being a middle aged woman at a high school soccer tournament. That happened to be a cotton sun dress that was just sticking to me.
The important thing about hot weather is to stay hydrated. I am not good at that. First, I really don't like using portable bathrooms at any type of sporting events and second, I think drinking water is very tasteless and boring. Last weekend I had both my problems solved. This soccer tournament had (REAL) bathrooms with running water and I made sure to have pitchers of this flavored water in my fridge at all times. It was easy to fill up a water bottle with this and take it to go.
Why Make Flavored Water?
Water is much better flavored with something in it. Sometimes I call it spa water but I don't do that very often because then the son and husband in the house are not willing to give it a try as quickly as they did if I called it something more manly. How about hairy chest hydration? Or the thirst quencher bomb? None of these sound so good so I decided to just describe it for what it is. And if the men in my house don't drink it then there is just more for my daughter and I.
This refreshing beverage is very easy to make and you should always keep a pitcher in your fridge too. Of course, I'd rather be drinking a Orange Basil Cocktail or Fresh Strawberry Mojito but I' think I'll save those for an occasional happy hour. During the day I'll stick with this refreshing Strawberry Lemon water.
In the summer like I frequent the Collingswood Farmers Market and this past Saturday I got some great produce from Flaim Farms. Included was a beautiful bunch of fresh mint that made my car smell delicious on the way home.
This mint was so gorgeous that I thought about using it as a centerpiece on my dinner table. That only lasted for one day because the mint was used for this Strawberry Lemon Water along with some fruit salad and Strawberry Mojitos.
Why don't you make your own pitcher of this delicious and refreshing water? If you like this Strawberry Lemon Water, try this Citrus Cucumber Water too! Enjoy!

Love this idea! I often have fruit around (esp in the summer) and I always forget to just make a batch of "spa water" with it. Perfect for sitting on the back porch...or standing at a soccer tournament! 🙂 Although, for the record, I support the hairy chest hydration name. I'd chug this like it's going out of style then!!
