honey fruit saladA few weeks ago I went to a “Share The buzz” event at Whole Foods in Princeton, NJ. The staff at Whole Foods brought in a panel of experts to share with us how important bees are to our food supply. They pollinate over hundreds of fruits and vegetables as well as pollinate the grasses that animals we need feed on. The bee population is declining and they want to raise awareness so that we keep the bee population going.

Along with learning about bees, we also had a delicious lunch which included a honey and cheese tasting.

On April 18th , Whole Foods Markets will have a national Share the Buzz event which will consist of tastings, crafts, demonstrations and visits from local bee partners.  Visit www.sharethebuzz.com for more details and to learn how you can help save the bees. They were kind enough to share some honey swag and now you can win some too.

Now it’s time to share the fruit salad I made with fresh berries, grapes, honey, mint and a lime dressing. At the Whole Foods lunch , we had blackberries with honeydew but I decided to incorporate some strawberries and grapes into this light desert. It serves as a great breakfast item and I think I will be serving this at brunch this weekend.  Enjoy!

Wish I lived closer -that’s a lot of Whole Foods loot! I think I am going to make this for my Easter dessert with angel food cake – love the combo of flavors! I’d probably add some lime zest to it too – yum! Have a great Easter!
