Greek Yogurt Parfaits are the perfect lazy morning breakfast. They are filled with luscious ripe strawberries, creamy Greek yogurt, granola and a touch of honey. But feel free to use any fruit you'd like. I love to change things up and use different seasonal fruits.
These strawberry parfaits are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. I used plain nonfat Greek yogurt to cut out some sugar and calories. A sprinkling of granola and a drizzle of honey gives it a nice amount of sweetness and crunch. I could wake up to this breakfast every morning.
A touch of honey and some sweet, crunchy granola make these parfaits super delicious. If you want to cut down on your sugar calories, you could always substitute muesli or another low sugar cereal. You could also leave out the honey if desired.
If you'd like to sweeten things up a bit, you can also top your yogurt with Strawberry Sauce as well as fresh strawberries. This would make a decadent parfait. I also make homemade strawberry preserves which goes great on top of these parfaits.
Feel free to change up the fruit if you'd like to. I know I will be trying blueberries, raspberries and peaches or whatever juicy, ripe fruit I can get at my local farmers market, depending on the time of year.
Ingredients for Greek Yogurt Breakfast Parfaits
- Sliced Fruit – Layer these parfaits with your favorite fresh fruit or use a medly for even more flavor. Strawberries, peaches, berries, etc. are all great options.
- Greek Yogurt – I used plain, non fat yogurt but use vanilla if you prefer.
- Honey – Honey is the perfect natural sweetener for plain yogurt. Real maple syrup is a great alternatice.
- Granola – Stir in a bit of your favorite homemade or storebought granola to add a mouth pleasing crunch.
How to Make a Yogurt Parfait

FAQs
Yes, I like to set up the fruit and yogurt the night before but top them with the granola and honey right before serving. This keeps the granola crunchy. Mason jars are a great tool to keep your yogurt parfaits in if you are prepping them in advance.
Yes! Since plain lowfat yogurt has a low amount of sugar and fruit is natural, both are healthy as long as you eat them in moderation. Some granolas can contain a high amount of sugar, so I only use a limited amount. If you want this more of a treat than a healthy breakfast, you can use flavored and/or full-fat yogurts with extra toppings.
You can keep them in the fridge for a day or two. After that, the fruit will get soft and the yogurt could get watery. The ideal time is to make them and eat them by the next day.
Greek yogurt is thick and creamy because the whey has been strained out. Like all yogurts, Greek yogurt is an excellent source of calcium, potassium, protein, zinc, and vitamins B6 and B12. Greek yogurt contains live cultures, so you get the benefits of the probiotics with more protein and less lactose than regular yogurt.

Thank you for the reminder of this simple and delicious change of pace for breakfast. I work. So my routine gets to be robot like. But this is a quick, so doesn't jerk my schedule around-----like I have to get up earlier---lol. But I forget about it. I have all the ingredients on hand including strawberries all the time.

And this is perfect for those mornings when it's 100 degrees & humid, and I know you get that humidity there in NJ, and you just want easy peasy food.
