Atlantic City Restaurant week is always a great eating experience. Check out this preview of where you can get great dining!

Tomorrow starts Atlantic City restaurant week and I was able to sample some of the great restaurants they have to offer. I am no stranger to all the great food Atlantic City has to offer. Last week, I went to a wonderful preview at The Borgata. The room that the event was held in was really beautiful. They had over a dozen restaurants with samples from their menu. I was with my partner in food crime, Kristin from Dizzy, Busy and Hungry.
After trying just about everything, it was hard to pick a favorite. But here are some of the items I really enjoyed.
Rock shrimp cakes from Breadsticks in Resorts Casino. Yummy cakes with a beautiful garnish.
Creamy lobster bisque from Fin in the Tropicana. It was rich but not overwhelming and perfect to sip on.
Sashimi tuna tacos from Guy Fieri's ChopHouse. Crispy shells with fresh tuna and mango salsa.
I loved these braised short rib quesadilla from The Historic Smithville Inn!
Fresh shrimp from Sammy D's in Harrahs. One bite of this and I am hooked to go and try more of what's on their menu.
And how about some arancini from The Grotto in the Golden Nugget? Perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside with bits of prosciutto. This was not the first time I've had a great bite from this restaurant.
Last month I was invited to try their new menu. Chef Carmine Favuzzi made a dinner I would not forget. Chef Favuzzi was born in Italy and wanted to revamp the menu to include recipes from his heritage but to reflect a more modern day style that fits in the Atlantic City restaurant. From the antipasti to the two pasta dishes I tried, to the Chicken Scarpariello, Pesce da Calabrese and tiramisu, the food was just fabulous!
I also happened to try a sweet bite from Lillie's which is another restaurant in The Golden Nugget. This Open Faced Wonton with Lemon Mascarpone was the bomb. I always go for the fruity dessert with whipped cream. While I like chocolate, this beats out any chocolate dessert I might eat.
The table centerpieces at the event were adorable. Since the restaurant week preview was an event to raise money for the food bank, they adorned the tables with flowers and canned goods.
A big thank you to all the sponsors that made this event successful! You bet I will be heading to Atlantic City on Monday for restaurant week. The hardest part will be choosing where to eat.
****For full disclosure, I was invited to the preview and The Grotto complimentary. As usual, all opinions on this blog are my own.
