How to Freeze and Reheat Cooked Rice
Follow these instructions to freeze precooked rice an reheat it in the microwave or a pot.

Prepare rice. Cool until it comes to room temperature.
Freeze in plastic freezer bags or plastic air tight containers.
Reheat on the stove top in the oven or in the microwave. See notes below for each method and more details.
Add to your favorite recipe.
Reheat Rice in a pot:
- Dump the frozen rice into a sauce pan, breaking up any large chunks.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of water and cover with a lid.
- Cook over medium-low heat stirring occasionally until the rice is warmed through.
- Fluff and serve.
Reheat Rice in the oven:
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
- Place frozen rice in a baking dish or pan and sprinkle with ½ tablespoon of water per cup of rice.
- Cover the dish with foil and place in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until heated through.
Reheat Rice in Microwave:
- Break the frozen rice into chunks and place them into a mircrowave-safe container or bowl.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and microwave in 60 second increments for about 2 to 3 minutes or until rice is steaming hot.
