    Salad for Lunch

First Published: June 9, 2009 . Last Modified: October 1, 2021 lisa39 Comments This post may contain affiliate links

I am not an Italian chain restaurant fan however I will go to the Olive Garden for lunch so I can order their salad and breadsticks. I decided I wanted to try making the dressing myself and I searched the internet for some copycat recipes. This is what I came up with. It didn't taste exact however it was a pretty good imitation. So today I made a salad with lettuce, pepperoncini, tomatoes, roasted peppers and some ham and cheese spirals. It was the perfect lunch. I will be making the dressing again but maybe tweeking it a little next time.

    Copy Cat Olive Garden Dressing

    ½ cup light mayonnaise
    ⅓ cup white vinegar
    1 teaspoon vegetable oil
    2 Tbls. corn syrup
    2 Tbls. Parmesan cheese
    2 Tbls. Romano cheese
    ¼ tsp. garlic salt
    ½ tsp. Italian seasoning
    ½ tsp. parsley flakes
    1 Tbl. lemon juice

Mix all ingredients in a blender or processor until well blended. If this is a little too tart for your personal taste, please add a little sugar.

I didn't take the time to compare your recipes. They may be similar. Probably my favorite thing at OG is their salad.

I'll bet this is a wonderful dressing for salads. It must be great to know you can get close to the flavors you like so much. Have a wonderful day, Lisa.

Now you've got me craving Olive Garden - haven't been there in ages. The current issue of Food Network magazine has their copycat version of the salad dressing and breadsticks - thought you might be interested.

Your salad looks better than OG's because it has more stuff in it. Yum! The dressing sounds delicious.

My kids love Olive Garden and I am sure they will love this recipe too.

My daily lunch is usually a salad of some sort. Anything else requires an afternoon nap for me.
