Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups blueberries
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 cups vanilla yogurt I used non fat and low sugar kind

Instructions

  • In a small sauce pan, mix the blueberries and sugar. Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes or until bubbling.
  • Remove from the heat and keep chilled in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the blueberry mixture with the yogurt. Add to your ice cream maker and prepare according to the manufacturers instructions.

Notes

If you do not have an ice cream maker, you can still make this Blueberry Frozen Yogurt. After blueberries are cooked and cooled, add them along with the yogurt to a blander and quckly blend together until mixture is combined but some blueberries are still whole. Place in an air tight container in the freezer. Freeze for 4 hours (or overnight) or until yogurt is frozen. This will not be as creamy as using an ice cream maker but will still be good.
