My father in law made this adorable DIY candy dispenser. It is perfect for keeping a jar of M&M's on hand for the kids. The adults love getting candy this way too!
It's Friday the 13th and I am in a great mood. None of the superstitious stuff here!
I have a few exciting things to share but first I want to show you this really cool DIY candy dispenser my father-in-law made. How cute is this? My father in law is really talented in wood working and made 24 DIY candy dispensers for family and friends at Christmas. My kids adore it and it has been the main attraction for my kids' friends these days. It's been tough to keep it filled with candy.
The way it works is that the mason jar holds the candy and a little wooden lever gets pulled to dispense it. There are always little hands (and big ones too) underneath it waiting for the candy. It looks a like a few candy thieves were caught with their hands under the jar. So much fun!
In between snacking on all this candy (I hope my dentist isn't reading), I have been busy. My new blog design is up and running thanks to Zesty Blog Consulting. They really did a wonderful job and I am very happy with the new clean look. Zesty is also a food blogger so if you would like to get some great recipes , you can check out Zesty Cook too. I still have more work to do but in the meantime I am celebrating by having A HUGE GIVEAWAY sometime next week. You won't want to miss this! Please make sure your feeds are updated to www.jerseygirlcooks.com if you are a follower. I have new social media buttons on the right side bar.
Next week I will also be sharing McCormick's 2012 Flavor Forecast. Yesterday I was able to participate in a webinar given by McCormick and Chef Mark Garcia. I was introduced to the six flavor trends for 2012. This weekend, I will be busy cooking up some recipes with these great flavor combinations.
I am also happy to share that I will be attending A Taste of the NFL in Indianapolis on Superbowl weekend and visiting the Red Gold Tomatoes facility with six other bloggers. Of course, you will hear more on this as the time gets closer. I am super excited for this fun event and to find out more about tomatoes from the experts.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
