    Meeting The Cake Boss!

First Published: September 3, 2009 . Last Modified: March 4, 2021 lisa25 Comments This post may contain affiliate links

Sorry for being a posting slacker. I am on vacation at the Jersey shore and have had limited computer time. This is a good thing as we have been having fun on the beach, crabbing, fishing and going to the zoo. And of course we all have had our share of good food.

Last week, before our vacation, I decided to take my kids on a foodie field trip. We were visiting my mom and brother in north Jersey so we also went to Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken. This is home of The Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro. My kids were thrilled and we were able to meet Buddy who was very nice. Take a peek.............

I did bring home some goodies so the husband was very happy and I made some new friends in my neighborhood. The pastries were the best and I have no complaints about the cupcakes or cookies either. I do have a complaint that someone must've snuck into my house and shrunk my jeans or I just ate too many pastries. Oh well, diet next week! That must mean that you will see some low fat recipes loaded with fruits and veggies. Have a great holiday weekend!

I'm so envious. He seems like such a nice person. I wondered about the food he makes. It's good to hear that it's good. Welcome back!

oooh those pastries look amazing!!! I think the same person who snuck into your house and shrank your jeans.. snuck into mine.. they then proceeded to feed me mass quantities of chocolate in my sleep... this person is dangerous! ha ha! Happy weekend. ~Vanessa 🙂

How fun for your and your children.

We live close to Charm City Cakes (Ace of Cakes) - but you're only allowed there if you're placing an order.

I'm sure your children will always remember this adventure with fond memories.

Very cool, Lisa! Hoboken was our stomping ground some years ago (early-mid '90s). We know Carlo's very well. - John

We hardly ever make it over to Hoboken and we are in North Jersey! May have to make the trip so that we can sample some of those goodies.

Nice story! I also had a similar experience visiting Carlo's Bakery with my older girls (7 & 10) this summer (they watch Cake Boss all the time...ok, well, they watch it with me whenever it's on) and we had a chance to go to Hoboken after a day trip visiting the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. It was a thrill to walk in to the bakery and see where the "magic" happens on the show. Didn't see Buddy that day, but we met Lisa, his sister, and walked out with two boxes of delicious cupcakes and cannolis, which we devoured at home... 🙂
