This Saturday, May 12, 2012, Campbell Soup Company will join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) to help  Stamp Out Hunger across America. The program is in its 20th year and has grown to a national level. It will provide assistance to the millions of people in America who are struggling to put food on their table. More than 90 million post cards and shopping bags will be delivered to homes to remind them to participate in the drive. To participate in this Stamp Out Hunger food drive, Americans are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal next to their mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on Saturday,May 12. The nation’s 210,000 letter carriers will collect these food donations as they deliver the mail and take them to a local  Feeding America food bank or hunger-relief organization in more than 10,000 communities.

Most people can dig into their pantries and find just a few items to donate. Please do what you can!

Thanks for the reminder. I haven’t gotten my postcard yet, but always put out a bag of food. I’m cleaning out today and will put the bag together.
