Nonni’s Biscotti Bites and My Biscotti Moment

by jerseygirl on May 17, 2012 · 5 comments

I love biscotti and I think it stems from having  Italian grandparents. I remember being a kid and there were always bags of anisette biscotti in my Nana’s pantry.  The crunchy dunking cookies were great to dip in coffee, tea and wine. Maybe you have never done the wine thing before but let me tell you, it is good.  Biscotti dunked in some wine for dessert? What more is there?

Recently, I was given the opportunity to try three flavors of ‘s  Nonni‘s Biscotti  Bites. They were:

  • Almond Dark Chocolate – a classic almond biscotti dipped in gourmet dark chocolate. This treat takes the tradition of biscotti and adds the delicious taste of fine chocolate
  • Caramel Milk Chocolate – a light treat with a creamy caramel filling and dipped in gourmet milk chocolate. An indulgent, irresistible combination
  • Classic Almond – this traditional cookie is crunchy with a touch of anise and the sweet flavor of almonds.

Since I love the combination of chocolate and caramel, I have to say that the Caramel Milk Chocolate Biscotti was my favorite with a cup of coffee. But if wine is in the picture, I prefer the more traditional Classic Almond cookie.   I love that the biscotti are only a few bites each. This means you have to eat more than just one but they are still perfect for dipping.

If you like biscotti like I do, then try some of Nonni’s Biscotti bites and go to their Facebook page. You can enter the Nonni’s Biscotti Moment Sweepstakes for a chance to win a once in a lifetime trip for two to Hollywood. They are also giving away a Nonni’s Biscotti gift basket each week to three lucky winners who upload photos that capture their biscotti moments. Entries will be  accepted through June 15, 2012.

Now I will tell you about my own   Biscotti Moment.  I have just tucked my two children into bed and kissed them good night. I come into the living room to see this plate of biscotti sitting on the coffee table along with a fine glass of wine. My husband also strategically placed the remote next to them. I must be dreaming. Some sweet biscotti enjoyed with a glass of wine is nice. But pair that with being in control of the remote control with my husband by my side is just pure bliss.  Someone please pinch me as this doesn’t happen too often. But when it does, it is one good half an hour!

What is your favorite biscotti moment? Don’t forget to enter to win!

My husband likes the chocolate one dipped in dark chocolate. I like the lemon ones, almond and chocolate.

I remember being pregnant with my youngest child and sitting with almond biscotti dipped into hot chocolate. Yummy!

We’re not Italian, but I always grew up with homemade biscotti lying about.
