Did I get you excited by the name of this post? You probably thought Giada De Laurentiis came to my kitchen to teach me how to make her delicious pasta and beautiful desserts. I wish!
Actually, I was lucky to be chosen by Moms Central Consulting to participate in a blog tour and receive some of the new Giada De Laurentiis for Target products. A big box was delivered to me last week and I really felt like Christmas came early this year. Giada De Laurentiis has joined Target with a great new collection of items which include cookware, bake ware, kitchen tools, and specialty food items. With the collection, comes some handy tips and recipes from Giada herself. Look at some of the wonderful food products I received. I also received some handy kitchen tools and bake ware.
This is a basket of holiday short cut goodness! I tried a few items and have so much planned for these products. I always like to keep specialty items like this in my pantry. If guests stop by on short notice, it is easy to whip up an appetizer in a few minutes. There is a wonderful pepper and eggplant spread that is great on crostini or crackers. I can whip out a bottle of wine and be well prepared for guests at anytime. The marinated mushrooms and roasted peppers are the perfect addition to add to my antipasto plate. To me that is dinner in itself. Or I can whip up a quick meal with some pasta and the wonderful basil pesto. And to finish off a meal or start your morning there is Giada Blend coffee .
The basic idea of throwing a nice holiday party is to plan ahead (and also plan for surprise guests) but don’t overdo things. Why stress yourself out when you can enjoy the holidays? Giada suggests to not serve more than four or five appetizers. You only need a few simple things to make a night special and all of Giada’s collections of specialty food and kitchen items can cover it. While I love the food items, I also treasure the bake ware which goes from oven to table. It means less dishes and more enjoyment time for everyone.
As soon as I received my goodie box,I decided to try Giada’s spiced coffee recipe. It is festive for the holidays and who doesn’t like a mildly spiced coffee with home made whipped cream? I know if I serve this at my next holiday brunch, I will be a rock star.

To anonymous, while I appreciate the comment, I really don't agree. This is not being promoted as a healthy drink. It is a treat which I even mentioned would be a good holiday gathering drink. I believe in moderation and if you want to cut all cream out of your diet, that is your perogative. Mine is to be healthy but also enjoy food and life. Happy holidays!
It is so neat that you can use products inspired by your favorite online cooking show hosts. Some of the products offered are genuinely useful, while others are more for fun. As a home cook I scrutinize my purchases of cooking gear to make sure that the money I invest will allow me to bring home something that has a value beyond just being tied to a TV personality.
