Sun-Bird Seasonings $50 Giftcard Giveaway & Shrimp Fried Rice

It’s 4:30pm. I am rushing to finish my notes for tonight’s 7:30 PTA meeting. My middle school daughter has just arrived home and is now racing to get to my IPad before her brother gets it. I am yelling for her to do her homework while my son is looking for his soccer socks. I realize he has no clean socks and throw a load of whites in the washer. Practice starts at six so dinner needs to be ready by 5pm so that my son gets a chance to digest his dinner. My daughter realizes she has forgotten her math homework and needs to run to the neighbors to make a copy. My husband calls to say he is running late at work and will be home by 5:30. He asks what’s for dinner. I realize that I forgot to take something out of the freezer. Isn’t 5 o’clock supposed to be happy hour?
Does this sound like a familiar scenario in your house?
I remembered that we had some leftover rice in the refrigerator. Luckily I keep Sun-Bird seasonings and some pantry items in the cupboard. There is some shrimp and frozen peas in my freezer. Dinner will be ready at five and our family can continue on with their evening. Shrimp Fried Rice is one of my daughters favorites and she will be happy. This can also be reheated for the shifts that take place during dinner time at our house.
Pretty simple, huh? I followed the packet instructions but omitted the green onions and added 2 cups of cooked shrimp at the end of the recipe. I always keep already cooked shrimp in my freezer as they can be defrosted under cold water in minutes. This dinner is very adaptable as you can add whatever meat or veggies you might have on hand. It takes less time to cook this dinner than to pick up Chinese take out!

Nice prize…great product! What would I use the gift card for should I win? I'd give it to my 88 years old mother who is on a very fixed income. That way, she can go food shopping, for once, and buy things she WANTS, and not just things she NEEDS! She is my cooking inspiration and it would make her so happy!!

My old toaster oven crapped out, I bought a cheap toaster and my husband has done nothing but complain about the purchase (which, in all honesty, was a mistake purchase!).
So I would put that $$ towards that!
