Snow Days and Food!

Yes, we’ve got some snow! Over three feet in less than five days! So as you can imagine there has been a lot of cooking and baking going on in this house. I made some oldies but goodies and we also tried out some new recipes. Some were healthy and some weren’t! But we did replenish all the calories we used from shoveling and removing the snow. Here are some good food ideas when you’re snowed in. (Click on the highlighted food under the picture and it will take you to the recipe.) Take a look! Come back next time for some sweet treats we made. Happy winter everyone!

How about sugar donut muffins for your breakfast?

Mama’s Sunday Pork Gravy is perfect if you’re home for the afternoon.

If it snows, I have to make a big pot of Beef Barley Vegetable Soup.

Hi Lisa, I just posted "Lots of Snow and Comfort Food!" We are definitely in the same boat, dealing with the NJ snow and cooking. Everything looks delicious and perfect for cold, snowy days!

I LOVE being snowed in at home!! You have had more snow than we have had all year!! Not normal for us as I am in Northern NY! We usually have a ton of it.

I am so jealous of all of your snow. I love Colorado's big snow storms and love being snowed in. And that's some great "snowed-in" food. Keep warm and safe!

I heard about all that snow in Jersey. My sister got snow bound in Atlantic City. (I'm sure she didn't mind)

Great dishes for the winter blahs, Lisa. Thanks for sharing…
