Happy birthday to my big boy!

by jerseygirl on November 27, 2009 · 28 comments

Today was my son’s 8th birthday. It’s hard to believe that my youngest is that big.  To celebrate, we made cupcakes that I saw on Picky Palate. Jenny from Picky Palate has a great blog filled with fun, family friendly recipes. These cupcakes caught my eye right away and the kiddos loved making them. It was like an art and baking project all in one. Check out the bowls filled with the colored batter and pretty cupcake tins before they went in the oven.

The cupcakes went great with ice cream. My son picked out an M & M  ice cream cake. Between the cake and cupcakes, the kids were sugared out. Now they’re crashing and mommy gets some quiet time. Time for a movie and maybe a nibbling of some leftovers. And then gym time tomorrow. Have a great night!

Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday to your big boy! And happy working out. hehe
I made rainbow cupcakes when my son turned 8 in Sept. (I used a recipe from Nicole's Baking Bites. They look about the same and are really fun! Fun times. Here comes Christmas–ready or not!
