Pom is Wonderful in a Smoothie!

by jerseygirl on April 19, 2009 · 42 comments

A while back I was a lucky recipient of a case of Pom Wonderful Juice. I love eating pomegranates and the juice is just as good. I had meant to make a few recipes sooner but the juice kept disappearing from the fridge. There are a few people in my house that love to take the juice and drink it straight up, mixed with another juice or splashed in some club soda. I personally like pomegranate martinis.

The juice is filled with plenty of antioxidants so I don’t mind running to the store to refill the fridge. Drink up hubby and children!

Yesterday was a beautiful warm day and the weather made me crave a smoothie. So I took out my Pom Wonderful and made a healthy , sweet but tart drink. I was not the only one to think this way. Barbara Bakes also made a great smoothie. I will be trying hers next.

Pom Banana Strawberry Smoothie

1 frozen banana
6 ounces strawberry yogurt
4 ounces Pom Wonderful juice
a few ice cubes
strawberries for garnish
Blend banana, yogurt, juice and ice cubes until smooth. Garnish tall glass with strawberries and enjoy. Makes one serving.

I also have always really liked the bright red color Pom lends to anything you add it to. Thanks for sharing a simple and elegant smoothie recipe!

We're drinking a big POM smoothie right now too. I went a little crazy & added strawberries, raspberries & cherries so its nice & red

Jeff April 20, 2009 at 10:56 am

I have the same case of pom sitting in my fridge with zero clue what to do with it. My normal go to drink is 3/4 pineapple with 1/4 pom drizzled on top of it with mint and simple syrup.

I do love a quick smoothie in the morning though.

Bridgett April 20, 2009 at 11:22 am

I am with you on the POM martinis! I will have to try the smoothies next. I am finally getting my son to drink smoothies so I may try this one on him.

My family went crazy over the POM Wonderful too. I had to stash a bottle so I could make something with it. Your smoothie looks and sounds just like Spring!

My hubby and son drink it straight from the bottle and love it, I have to go get more to make something with, they keeping finding it when I try to hide one for myself!!
