The husband was happy as this is one of his favorite meals however I cheated a little bit. In my freezer, I had what my husband calls “the best meatballs ever”. Today was busy with Valentines parties, Cub Scouts and karate so I had to improvise and use what I already had. The frozen meatballs are from a recipe that I took off the Food Network website. Grandma Maronis Meatballs 100 Year Old Recipe was from the Bobby Flay Showdown and these are our favorite meatballs. They also kicked Bobby Flay’s butt. And I mean that in a most affectionate way. Click here if you would like the recipe. I followed Ina’s sauce recipe and it was good if you want a quick sauce. I prefer my “red gravy” cooked long and slow but this was a good standby for a busy day. I would definitely double the sauce as this did not make enough for all the spaghetti. Only the husband and I eat sauce as the kids like butter and cheese so it was enough for ours but not for many more servings.
Thanks Rebecca for picking a nice recipe which fit in great with my busy day. Click here for the whole Barefoot Contessa version.

Your sauce looks how I wish my sauce had come out!;)
Looks deliciousl. Spaghetti and meatballs are my all time favorite meal. I will try the recipe from Food Network you mentioned. I saw that segment and I loved it!!! Poor Bobby!
Yum, that’s what we are having for dinner tonight too
Yummy meatballs-I will need to post my turkey version and see what you think. My kids also prefer just butter on their noodles.
Absolutely delicious Lisa and one of our favourite dishes in my family!

I’m going to have to get that meatball recipe… always looking for a good one that I can make up and keep in the freezer. Your dinner looks delicious!
my kids has been asking for this… looks great… happy valentine’s day!!!
We enjoyed the meatballs and the sauce, but I did only have time to cook half the meatballs and that worked with the amount of sauce.
I may just have to try “the best meatballs ever”, though!
I have not had this in ages!
The meatballs look great! I just finished off some spaghetti for lunch, but it didn’t have meatballs! Good job.
There’s been a while I don’t have a good spaghetti and meatballs! It’s such a conforting fun dish, isn’t it? I love the look of yours!
You know I could eat S & M almost every night for dinner. I know it's fattening, but I just love it so much. So seeing these just made me very hungry as I haven't had them in over 2 weeks.
Spaghetti and meatballs are my kind of comfort food, your’s look so delish!
