A Cub Scout Cake

First let me announce the winner of the My Fruit Rollups giveaway. It is the Blonde Duck from A Duck in Her Pond. Congratulations Blonde Duck! You were picked randomly by my son who is also the guest cake baker today.

My seven year old is a cub scout. The cub scouts have a yearly cake bake off which is scheduled for tomorrow night. So this afternoon, my son and I worked hard on this Cub Scout themed cake. He was a great baker and knew exactly how we would decorate the cake. He drew his design on a piece of paper and then we baked, decorated and licked the spoons.

So, what do you think? I am not the greatest decorator but with my son’s guidance it all came together. The little cars represent the pinewood derby which is an annual cub scout event. I have to say I didn’t mind having a spoon of that blue sugary icing. Now hopefully, we can go 24 hours without fingerprints on the cake!

What a cake and what a happy boy! If there’s a prize I hope he wins it. It is is a bake sale I hope someone pays $100.00 for it. Bob used to do crazy stuff like that.

How cute!! I remember when my lil brother did the wooden car races. I think he even has all of his old cars in some kind of memory box my mom made.

I love that he created the design on paper himself! My (almost 7 year old) son would do the same thing! Good luck!

I have to say I love that the cubscouts have added a cake bakeoff to the usual routine. When my brother was a cubscout it was pretty much all pinewood derby!

Nothing like a happy looking kid who’s either happy for the cake or planning to be another Hulk Hogan πŸ™‚
