Is Someone Following Us?

Hello everyone! Today was our first day in Williamsburg, Virginia. We arrived at The Great Wolf Lodge and it has been fun. Here are the two kiddos in their own little wolf den. The rooms are great except that there was a lot of fighting over whom would be sleeping in the top bunk. The weather is not behaving but with such a great indoor water park, we can go without sunshine for a day or two. We are staying at this lodge and then heading to Kingsmill Resort tomorrow. We need the weather to clear up so we can go to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg and do some fishing at the resort.

Before we left today, we had to bring our poor little pooch to our vet where she is boarded while we are on vacation. She has been bathed and bathed but still smells a little funny. She has a smoky smell which to me is like barbecue gone bad. As stinky as she was, we miss her.

An odd thing happened when we came back from dinner tonight. We were walking from our car to the lobby and we hear a family on their balcony yelling, “Watch out, there’s a skunk!” Were they kidding me? I expected to see a stuffed animal on a string with some teenager pulling it as a prank. But instead, about 50 feet in front of us was a black and white rodent. Could he have followed us from Jersey? The kids are were spooked and I was trying to get a little closer to get a picture so that you would really believe this happened. It was really dark so the picture is not good, but clearly WE saw that was a skunk. Luckily no one was sprayed this time. And luckily our room(and balcony) is on the fourth floor!

Well, it’s time for me to go to bed. Sorry, there is no recipe for today but here is another picture of the kids enjoying the water slide. I am loving my new lap top. Now I can blog on vacation so there is more to come this week and maybe even a recipe. Good night!

Glad you made it all settled in, and actually skunk free. I’ve actually gotten sprayed before… not really one of my finest hours of living 🙂

You’ll have a blast in Williamsburg. There’s so much history, fun little shopping, and the amusement park.

Oh, and yes I did see the Mets/Phillies. I couldn’t believe they blew it like that, the race for first seems to be coming down to the wire.
